A few very exciting updates and progress happened in Day 3.
Henry has started to sit in the cat tree. He still hangs out in the hamper, but is spending more and more time in the tree.

I came into see their food bowl was empty. So rather than just refilling and leaving, I thought I might try Churu on a toothbrush again. Cali was in her pyramid, which meant I had decent access to slowly approach her and offer it to her. Cali ate Churu from toothbrush!!! She sniffed and sniffed, and finally allowed herself to eat the amount on the toothbrush handle. I continued to refill it and offer it, and she ate it. I started out pushing it way inside the pyramid to her, and slowly offered it farther and farther out. She actually poked her head out to eat!

She definitely kept her eye on me while she ate, but she ended up eating the entire Churu tube from the toothbrush in my hand!
Later in the day, Henry was out and I offered it to him. He was surprisingly more hesitant than Cali. He eventually licked some off the toothbrush handle, but only once. I left the rest for him to get after I left.

Photo taken before he had a bite. I couldn’t lean over and hold it for him and take photos at the same time.
Later in the day, I came in to visit and refill food. Henry came out and ate in front of me! And he wandered around after he ate.

I’ve also put down a towel under their food in order to have it covered with their scent, so I can bring it to Gwen.

I know that looks like nothing, but that is actually Cali sleeping in front of me! Usually she either watches me or puts her head down, but she actually relaxed enough to sleep in front of me.
Near bedtime, I went in to see them. After a few destroyed rolls of toilet paper, I decided they needed something different to play with than what I provided. I brought in one of those feathers on a stick type of toys. I had brought it in earlier and it got Henry’s attention, but not enough to do anything about it. I did it again and HENRY PLAYED! He was very hesitant and didn’t PLAY PLAY, but he was very interested, and came closer and closer. And gave it a couple of swats.

A great day with many signs that they’re getting comfortable.
