Gwen, Cali, and Henry – 6 months

I’m late for this update, but there’s been a lot going on (non-cat related)

This will definitely (probably) be my last update like this.

Gwen and Henry will groom each other, which turns into a fight, then back to grooming. It’s very cute. They will also join me in bed in the morning, and wait for me (usually) to wake up. I can even pet Henry! He has to be in the right mood. And I have to bring my hand around from behind to his head or he backs away. But he lets and even enjoys pets. AND he even asks for more by patting my arm with his paw.

I’ll sometimes see Cali and Henry cuddling and sleeping together in the living room chair. Soooo cute.

Cali still hangs out around the edges, while we are all in the living room, she’ll sit on the stairs and watch.

I’ve opened up access to the basement. Happily, no one has gotten hurt, nor does anyone spend all day down there. In fact, we even solved a mystery with Gwen. Some time ago, I took her to the vet because she had scratched the insides of her ears. They had determined she was just very ticklish and would get carried away scratching. Well she didn’t have a problem the entire time the basement was closed off. As soon as I let her down there, she’d come up covered in cobwebs and guess what? Scratching at her ear. So yep, she’s ticklish, and in particular over cobwebs.

Henry took some time figuring out the basement cat door and spent the first few days shooting himself through it like a rocket. He has since figured it out. Occasionally Gwen will sit on the other side and block it so he can’t go through.

Cali continues to slowly come out of her shell. She’s even come running to me a few times when it’s Churu time. She even squeaked at me once! I’ve also been able to sneak in a few pets while she is having Churu. Just like Henry used to be, she tolerates it and only while eating Churu. She spends a lot of time on my daughter’s bed and in the cat tree up in my room. She now mostly comes out at mealtime and eats with Gwen and Henry.

So that’s pretty much it. They’re on their way to being normal cats. Everyone is happy and healthy.
